Jimmy’s musical journey began by singing on buses to earn tips and financially support his mother. At age 20 he moved to Los Angeles, California, tirelessly pursuing his dream of being a singer. He recorded his first two professional EPs with the money he earned singing on the Santa Monica Pier, California, as a street performer and, later, he stood out as a finalist in the La Voz, in Miami, under the tutelage of coach Carlos Vives.
Touring through Central America with his mentor, sonero Maelo Ruiz, Jimmy gained valuable experience. His talent has allowed him to share the stage with recognized artists such as Maelo Ruiz, Carlos Vives, Tito Nieves, Luis Enrique, Ana BĆ”rbara, Grupo Niche, Jerry Rivera, Oscar de LeĆ³n, Rey Ruiz, La India, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Septeto Acarey, Luis Figueroa, Ronald Borjas, Motiff, Jonathan Moly, or Nesty.
